Everything about the campsites unusual with naturist

Sleep in a treehouse, a gypsy caravan or a lodge tent and spend the day without a swimsuit: these 12 naturist campsites combine unusual accommodation with the freedom of naturism. A way to experience nature up close, as a couple, with friends or with the family.

Treehouses

This is the most common unusual stay in the selection, with six addresses. In the Landes, Arnaoutchot offers treehouses among the pines, a few steps from the ocean. In Agde, in the Hérault, the René Oltra centre has them too, by the Mediterranean. In the countryside, Château Guiton in the Gironde, Domaine du Coq Rouge in Collonges-la-Rouge (Corrèze), the Ferme naturiste de l’Oliverie in the Deux-Sèvres and Les Étangs de Saint-Pancras in the Haute-Saône are all about peace and quiet.

Lodges, safari tents and gypsy caravans

Halfway between a tent and a mobile home, the lodge tent offers a real bed and a terrace in the middle of nature. You will find them at Les Lauzons in Provence, at Millefleurs in the Ariège at the foot of the Pyrenees, at Le Coq Rouge, at Château Guiton and at Lous Suais in the Haute-Vienne, which also offers bivouac camping. Gypsy caravans complete the range at Arnaoutchot, Les Lauzons and L’Oliverie. Le Coq Rouge adds tipis and Campétoile, and La Couliche in the Tarn rents out a vintage caravan.

Lake, mountains or countryside

La Serre de Portelas in the Puy-de-Dôme and La Chênaie in the Seine-Maritime have their own lake. Millefleurs and Les Lauzons are set in the mountains, the others in unspoilt countryside. Nine of the twelve campsites have a pool, often heated, and pitches for tents or caravans are still available.

Booking an unusual stay

Each campsite has only a few of these units, so book early for the summer. Check what is included (bed linen, private bathroom or shared facilities, kitchen) and the access conditions, as a naturist licence is often required on arrival. our method

How we select every campsite

1

A verified criterion, not a promise

Every with a difference campsite is checked against its official listing and real photos, not a marketing pitch.

2

Reputation, backed by reviews

We cross-check public Google ratings and reviews. An establishment below family standards doesn't make the selection.

3

Direct booking, transparent pricing

You book directly with the campsite, no middleman or hidden markup. The price shown is the price you pay.

FAQ - Unusual naturist campsites

What unusual accommodation can you find at a naturist campsite?
Mainly treehouses, lodge or safari tents and gypsy caravans. Some campsites in the selection also offer tipis, a vintage caravan or bivouac camping in the heart of nature.
Is a treehouse suitable for children?
Often yes, but some campsites set a minimum age for sleeping up high. Check the conditions on the campsite page or with reception before booking as a family.
Do unusual stays have a bathroom?
It varies. Lodge tents and gypsy caravans sometimes have a bathroom and a kitchenette, while treehouses often use the campsite’s shared facilities. Each campsite page lists the equipment.
Do you need a naturist licence?
Often, yes. Many centres ask for a French Naturist Federation licence or an international card, which can usually be bought at reception on the day you arrive.
When should you book a treehouse or lodge tent?
As early as possible for July and August, as each campsite only has a few. In June and September there is more choice and prices are lower.
