Camping le Marqueval Unique campsite in Hautot-sur-Mer

In Hautot-sur-Mer, six kilometres from Dieppe, camping Le Marqueval covers 8.5 hectares of meadows laid out around three ponds. This 4-star campsite is best known for its mobile homes, but it also offers four accommodations that step out of the ordinary, each with its own character.

The fisherman’s cabin stands on the bank of one of the ponds and sleeps two to six, with three bedrooms, a living room and a fitted kitchen. The Indonesian bungalow sleeps four on 25 m² plus a 10 m² mezzanine, with marble and lava-stone basins. The bamboo cabin, with woven walls, is camping the old way: no water inside, the shared toilet blocks close by. The 20.4 m² wooden gypsy caravan, with its porch, sleeps four, including two children in bunk beds.

For two, a premium mobile home offers a private whirlpool bath and a terrace over the pond. The campsite is open from 15 March to 15 October, and Pourville beach is 1.2 km away.

Reception is open daily from 8.45 am to 12 pm and 2 pm to 7 pm in low season, and non-stop from 8.30 am to 7 pm in high season. On site, a grocery shop with bread service, a snack bar serving rotisserie chicken, pizzas and burgers to eat in or take away, and a bar by the pools.

The premium toilet blocks have disabled access, and there is a launderette. Paths are tree-lined and lit at night. Pets are welcome, except in the mobile home with the whirlpool bath. French ANCV holiday vouchers are accepted.

On site, the essentials are free: playground, mini farm, table tennis, multisport court, boules pitch and, of course, fishing in the three ponds. The paths are easy to explore by bike.

Around the campsite, the Alabaster Coast is best discovered on foot: the GR21 long-distance path along the cliffs passes nearby. Dieppe, its fishing harbour and castle museum are six kilometres away, Varengeville-sur-Mer and its garden a little further, and Étretat, Fécamp or Rouen make good day trips.
